Okay, so we're all well aware Lucas isn't in the game by now... leaving us only with Ness.

Ness has all of Lucas' custom moves, but aside that, he can easily be re-added, especially since his specials are already there.

I'm thinking MAYBE, this might be a stretch, but maybe since there was an E3 joke about Star Fox, and Mother 3 (We didnt get Mother 3, sadly), maybe they'll be released as DLC to promote the games.

If Mother 3 got re-released I'm sure they'd release Lucas to advertise the game, as well as adding Wolf, or maybe even Krystal into the fray.

Ice Climbers maybe as well?

Just a thought, what do you guys think? Do you think they'd just pretty much insult us western Mother fans?

Or do you think it was just a hint...

I'm hopeful, but not that hopeful. However, I never thought about DLC characters/stages/etc to promote games, that's a great idea actually. Sceptile, I'm waiting for you!

I saw forever ago a video "complaining" about the cut of Wolf and Lucas. They said, yeah, licensing for Snake and the difficulty of adding Ice Climbers. They said DLC.

They obviously put Lucas styled attacks in Ness' customization arsenal, that way those who didn't get Lucas can at least still have part of him. I wouldn't say that Lucas, Ice Climbers or Snake are forever out of the series. Seeing how Dr. Mario didn't make the cut in Brawl but came back in the fourth game, I think it's safe to say these three will return. Maybe not in the next game, or maybe not even a couple years from now, but again, Dr. Mario made a return, so. In fact, I would have rather had these three return than Dr. Mario, Dark Pit, and Lucina, all of which could have been palette swaps.
