What characters do you play in a laggy setting?

Hi guys

I'm curious if you tend to play different characters if you are having a laggy online session. I'm finding that I perform significantly worse with the technical characters that I prefer in local games, especially if they don't have strong kill moves or rely on precise combos.

Do you change your character while lagging?

I'm sort of tempted to run bowser and hope for lucky side smash reads

Before going in a match I change color palettes to see if its going to lag. If it is laggy and changes around by itself, I leave. If not. i play, but when it gets laggy during the match, I play until the end and then leave. I cannot play with lag. Its even worse when people spam to win.

So are you saying that by spam changing your character skin, you can detect lag before the game starts?

I also agree with the spam. I find it much harder to punish for just about anything during lag, so people get away with dumb crap. Just Yesterday I had a guy decide to force sudden death when it was clear that he would lose if he fought. He was able to evade the last kill just by refusing to fight and having all day to react to my movements.

I don't play laggy people. If the game starts, and they are lagging the game to a standstill, I SD twice and leave.

Playing in laggy sessions is frustrating and takes the fun out of it all.

I know this worked in the 3DS version, but does this work on the WiiU version as well? I'd love to avoid laggy matches whenever possible.

If it's a laggy match, I'll try to fight them until my opponent SDs or I get frustrated and SD. After that, I will immediately leave. I can't tolerate lag, especially input lag, when I'm playing online. It's just no fun playing with it.

I usually just stick to my main, Falco. The lag does not really make much of a difference to me to be honest, I just switch up my play-style.

Whatever one I picked going into the match since there's no way to know beforehand if it's going to lag and I'd of course never play a second game with someone lagging.

Don't really have a specific character, I just use whatever I'm using. Usually, and other than my mains (Sheik/Marth), the only characters I play are Fox, Falcon, and occasionally Greninja. Most of the time it's Sheik who I play.

Just play Little Mac and spam smashes until they leave because of their own lag.

I pick Dedede. He hits like a truck, and most people can't counter his down smash, expecting the Fsmash instead.

Rosalina. Fast attacks tend to dominate in lag.
