Doesn't needs to be nintendo itself (But pls don't come with stupid things like naruto, Goku etc.)
Also if you had some ideas for attacks pls share them. this would give us a hint what it would be to play the char.

I would have liked to see Professor Layton.
I know there would be problems to find some good moves. *cough* special moves *cough* But I am sure someone would come up with good moves for him.

I would think Layton would be a patient and defensive character. His jumps should be average.
We know he is good at fighting with a rapier which has pretty good reach and speed but not the best attack power. Now some moves I think would fit:
Neutral A / either rapid Neutral A or 3-5x(can't decide) Neutral A: Rapier poke / Even mor Rapier pokes or Rapier combo
side tilt: quick long reach Rapier attack (leans his body forward)
down tilt: He attacks with his Leg and it can cause characters to fall sometimes.
up tilt: Would say swing the rapier over him but that doesn't realy seems effective with a rapier.

Forward Smash: 3 quick hits and the last one has more reach
Up smash: Either something like Marths Up smash or something more original ^^
Down smash: Just an idea for a type of down smash - he quickly attack with his leg in front of him (less reach launching upward) and then quickly turns around and attack with rapier (more reach, less strength and launching to the side)

N-Air: Don't know a original attack
F-Air: either a punch or a swipe with his Rapier (low knockback, but keeps opponents at distance)
Back Air: Maybe attacking with his elbow?
Down Air: he kicks downwards with a weak/medium spike effect

Grab has low reach
pummel: simple punch 2%
Forward throw: attacks with rapier, low knockback launching forward.
Back throw: Turns around and throws, medium knockback but no kill potential
down throw: Don't know but it shouldn't launch in the air, either very low like warios or behind his back.
Up throw: Just throws him up :p lol

Now his Special moves:

Neutral B: Ummm don't know
Side B: He would never throw his cylinder, so maybe he'll throw luke :p
Down B: drink tea :/ (I really can't come up with something)
Up B: (yay I got something) Maybe his helicopter or the glider he build (which would behave like brawls flying mechanics, way to bad for recovery though)

Ultra Smash: Emmy shows up and just builds up some damage and a roundhouse kick. Or the My favorite ^^: Range needs to be Medium about 2 Ganondorfs lying on the ground (yeah thats how I measures distance [not really]) Then everything goes black and layton walks in and says: And the person was YOU! (pointing gesture and camera goes to the character, looking shocked / Scared / Bad mood [depends on the characters behaviour]) Then the character gets damage and get launched.

First of all thanks for reading this and if you have some improvements or suggestions please tell me :)
What are the characters you wanted to see in smash?

I created the Rosalina support thread (now officially the Rosalina Boards' social thread), because I really wanted to see her as a playable fighter. To my pleasant shock, she's not only playable, but she's also a great character in the right hands. I also wanted to see Mewtwo return, and I thought I would be sadly disappointed... That was until he was revealed to be a DLC character.

I really have no complaints, really. Still, if I had to choose other characters I'd like to see appear in Smash Wii U/3DS, they would have to be the following, in no particular order (I won't go over the reasons for each character):

- Ridley
- Shantae
- Snake
- Ice Climbers
- Dixie Kong
- King K. Rool
- Square-Enix rep.

I'd like to see the Hunter from Monster Hunter. The moveset would be out there, unless we got 11 characters/ skins with different attacks, but I think it would work in the right hands.
Sadly I can't comment on the Layton moveset because I've never played on of the games.

It's interesting to see a move set being created for a character in a puzzle game. I think it begs the question why a character like Wii Fit Trainer and Villager can get in with 3 or 4 games but Layton can't pass the test with 7, one being a crossover with Capcom's Phoenix Wright.

My hypothesis is that with the few games Wii Fit and Animal Crossing had, they had an easier time finding moves that could fit. The trainers come from a fitness game that has many poses and workouts, that seems to work. Villager can have items and tools found in Animal Crossing and use it against the opponent.

Layton on the other hand comes from a game where you solve mysteries by walking around, getting information and solving puzzles. If there was anything the game makers would have to find, it would have to come from anything Professor Layton has done. His most active role was is The Eternal Diva movie, we see him making the helicopter and use a sword... but not much else.

Before you say the Phoenix Wright was able to be in a fighting game, there is actually a kicker, they made his play style a little more faithful to him being a lawyer rather than a fighter; they manage to make quirks and items from the games and turn that into a play style that works well. What career does Layton have again? He's a detective and archaeologist professor from a university, but he ain't in a physical position most of the time... and trying to throw puzzles into the mix isn't fun in a Smash Bros. game.

In short, Layton's just in a series where there isn't enough to get a plausible moveset. Phoenix may be in a real world setting too, but there is enough for him in his games to get some ideas if creative enough. Layton on the other hand would be a hard time, unfortunately.
