Whats the difference? I am just saying a smash group that competes with each other as well as other clans (or w/e you want to call it).

Forgive me for being a noob, but what's "Klan"?

I'm part of a "clan" of sorts with my friends. Basically just our group of friends. It's a bit pointless since Brawl's online isn't suited to "clan battles", but the idea is fun.

"Klan" as in "Klu Klux Klan," a radical anti-black hate group. (You're not from the States, are you? ;)) A Smash Bros group is called a crew.

I think internet clans are great. It makes a lot of options open for you in terms of level of play. So rather than playing a match against 3 other people that you are much better than and walk all over, you can play some people that will walk all over you. But, in the process you can better your game by learning from what they do. I would expect that we will see a large number of clans spring up not long after the release of brawl. They may even become popular enough to get a section on these forums.

I think crews are a great way to meet new players and get better by playing with Smashers of similar skill.

(Yeah, I'm nitpicking. Sue me.)

the Klu Klux Klan.
Haven't you ever taken social studies class before?
I'm not from US, no, and I don't take social studies, but of course I know who they are... the reason I was so confused is because I have no idea what "Klan" meant in Smash Bros terms, and if that's what you meant, why was it even on this thread? (unless you were joking, which I didn't get at first) :ohwell:

EDIT: Why is a Smash Bros clan called a crew? What sets them apart from most other online games in the whole world that use the word clan just fine?

Heck, I don't use clan (who lives their life in medieval times in modern games like these days?) or crews (Possible mafia reference or.. ?)

I just use what Smash uses, Team. (Fighting Alloy Team, Team Metal Bros., etc.)

I don't know why we call it "crews", maybe to be different?

I think maybe a clan is like a larger group, while a crew is relatively smaller?

I think crew sounds better than clan.

they are alright

I currently own a 150-something member Pokemon Wifi clan and am expanding it to Brawl since a lot of my members want it, so yeah

I like clans, made a lot of friends and made the internet more fun
