For this topic, I want to know if you have any goals for this game, other than having fun, getting very good, and becoming one of the greatest players.

About me on the goal, I had a goal from the first two "Smash" games (one of them was achieved) that I wanted to do for this game. But that goal was ruined after "Brawl". For me...I don't want to have fun, I don't want to be very good, I don't even want to become one of the greatest players. I just want to go for that achievement I did from "Smash 64". But that's practically impossible now, unless sheer luck is on my side. The success rate of achieving that same goal for this game is 30% (maybe 50% at best). Gambling 15-minute attempts into that goal is something I would consider doing...if the success rate was 90%. Because of that, I don't really want to gamble a 15-minute attempt into this game every time, only for RNG to royally screw me (and the other person) over most of the time at the very end. "Smash 64" and "Melee" are currently interesting for me because I can actually do the goal for those games without too much trouble. But with "Ultimate" practically sealing the fate of my goal, I really don't see myself playing this game or even looking at any more videos of it, unless a BIG miracle happens, whether it's an update patch or a mod that meets up to my standards from "Smash 64" and "Melee".

----------

On a rant note, other than "Smash 64" and "Melee", I'm not supporting the series anymore. I've tried so hard to keep being supportive through the years of "Brawl" up to "Ultimate", but...they've made it impossible. And for me, "Ultimate" is where I finally draw the line. To me, that game is the ultimate back-stabber, ultimate betrayal, and ultimate disappointment. I'm done supporting the series after "Melee". I may get the 10-foot cord length of the GameCube controller sometime in the future, but I wish that logo wasn't there now...because it ultimately betrayed me. Why should I continue supporting the series that does nothing but disappoint and essentially discourages the goal I did from "Smash 64"? Give me one very good reason why I should still support the series after "Melee"!

Smash isn’t a game that I’d make goals in other than being good, but I do hope that I can give expert players a run for their money.

What's the issue with star KOs/top blastzone KOs? A trade that creates a situation in which both players are sent flying into the sky on when they're both on last stock shouldn't be happening often enough for it to be a real problem. Nor should you be going for things that you obviously will trade or die for when you're in a last stock situation.

RNG has been a staple of Smash since its birth. Peach still pulls bombs out at a stupidly high rate. G&W has his basically OHKO 9 hammer. Luigi has the misfire, and will backfire on him randomly when he gets stuck in the stage when he performs said misfire. It's dumb, but again, Smash was never really meant to be a competitive fighter. We just twist it to be one because we're stubborn, and it's fun and exciting. People play competitive Mario Kart and Monopoly, which has tons of RNG. If you want a game with no RNG, go play Street Fighter 1. Or better yet, play chess.

And the goals you named at the start of your paragraph encompass near 100% of people who play this game on a regular basis. If you have a goal that floats outside this, you're the exception, not the rule. What exactly is your goal, since you didn't want to share it in your opening post?

It's, um, embarrassing, but it is the...999% match/goal on cuties (Yoshi, Diddy Kong, Pikachu, Kirby, Jigglypuff, and Pichu) as Mario, preferably with an intentional Star KO ending, not that super lame Blast KO ending. Reason for that is because the character can actually taunt afterwards, which was part of my goal for "Smash 64".

I can't believe you're still going on about that. I told you to back away from the series and do something else for a change until you were ready to come back. But you didn't listen, and look where that's gotten you. Stress has overtaken you, and it changed your opinion about the series as a whole.

You know, I've put up with your nonsense since the day we became friends back in 2014. I knew you had problems, but I still chose to be friends with you. I was willing to put up with you despite the amount of problems you had and ridiculous things you did because I cared about you. But with this, you've gone too far. So I hope it's worth pushing for that goal of yours with this game in the long run, because you just lost me as a friend.

Oh, and since I'm no longer your friend, I might as well tell you this. You know that 3.0 update thread you were commenting on about not being a "true fan" of the series? Well, you're right. You're not a true fan. You're just a fool who's trashing on the series now because it doesn't meet up to your standards. At this point, you might as well just refer to the later half of the series as a reboot, because it's not going to get any better for you. You'll be very lucky if someone makes a mod that meets your standards.

Maybe someday, you'll change the way you think on this series as a whole. But it looks like that's never going to happen.
