what are your favorite approaches?

what are some ways that you, the falco community, like to approach?
lasers, Dairs, Grabs, anything! just mention it

personally, i like to charge forward when there is an opening and do a Bair while facing forward, and, depending on the knockback, go into either some Nairs, Dairs, or sometimes even some smash attacks at low percentages.

There are too many good options, but it's probably better to force them to approach and begin a chain grab. Most characters can't out camp or out spam a good and well spaced Falco, so it's usually in your best interest to abuse that.

SHDL, untill they lose their patience and charge you, then try and CG. Always satisfying when it pulls off :D

Aside from SHDL, I sometimes like to approach with a short hopped N-air to U-tilt or grabs. It seems to work for me.

SHDL WTF OWNAGE

shdl - neutral A combo (landing close)
shdl - Forward Tilt (landing close)
shdl - Upsmash (landing close), good 4 kills
shdl - Grab (landing close)
shdl - d-smash (landing close / they're behind you)
shdl - Phantasism (landing medium/far) Jump cancelled
shdl - Shine (Landing medium range) Don't overdo this1, but if they trip from it predict their getup / roll and punish.
shdl - Gatling combo (Landing medium range) Cancel dash atk with upsmash, not to be confused with boost smashing.
shdl - shdl - shdl (hehe)
shdl - Landmaster (just threw that1 in for fun =D)

Other then shdl approaches i like:

A short hopped nair, fast falled into utilt is fun, leading to more utilts and nairs.


If you can learn to use it properly, a boost smash is very effective to approach with, you can usually sneak right in, due to it's quickness. Its a good way to kill from a down-throw at high percents too.

Sh airdodge - downsmash comes out immediately when you buffer it

walking jab into grab
walking jab - spotdodge - downsmash
walking jab - dash backwards - forward smash
walking jab - run through them - sh bair from behind
walking jab - turn around - spot dodge - downsmash - sh bair

any variation really.

sh single laser hyphen smash, boost smash, or gatling combo

There is nothing quite like the feeling of hitting your opponent with a short hopped sweetspotted D-Air.
