Taunt parties are a terrible thing in Brawl. We need to stop them in Smash 4 before they ruin online for that game too.

Yea. I like that strategy. But in Brawl they'd all team up against you. Even high skilled players will team up against people that actually try to play the game.Go around hitting people that do nothing but taunt.
I never understood the appeal of Basic Brawl in the first place. Whether you're a casual or a pro Smash is at its absolute best when you have people next to you that you can goof around or talk smack with.
Maybe it's just me but playing free for alls with a bunch of randoms online ruins a lot of what makes Smash amazing.
DeDeDe crouch parties and Captain Falcon PAWNCH parties.Removing the option to taunt online is the only way I see at completely removing it. It's not like taunts add much to online play either way.
At least it's better than 3 Sonics going "C'MON STEP IT UP"DeDeDe crouch parties and Captain Falcon PAWNCH parties.
Go down playing or sit around mashing the dpad. Your choice.Yea. I like that strategy. But in Brawl they'd all team up against you. Even high skilled players will team up against people that actually try to play the game.
In basic brawl people will treat the game like some kind of cosplay. They will crouch a lot or taunt for no reason. Then they will do other stuff that isn't fighting. If you see two players crouch next to each other than you know they've teamed up. Anyone who joins the room and attacks anyone in a taunt party gets teamed up on by all of the players. Even players that are really good will 3v1 people. When they kill you they will taunt. If it ends in sudden death they will taunt then SD. Most online rooms will devolve into some kind of 3v1 or 2v1v1. This makes it hard to find a good match. They are very difficult to beat. I find that the only way to beat them is to be Meta knight or have items like mega mushroom and FS on. But even then its a low chance of winning then you get crapped on like you suck. But in reality it takes three of them to beat you.Wait, what exactly are taunt parties?
You dirty rat... jk. I've done it too lol.The only reason I even participated in taunt parties was the awful lag online had. I couldn't fight even if I wanted to. Hopefully Smash 4 has much lass lag so I can actually fight and not continuously say "You're too slow!"
That's why it's fun. I love joining the taunt team to beat up the player who's attacking us. Who the hell fights in smash bros anyway? Assholes, that's who.Yea. I like that strategy. Taunt parties exist because Brawl's online ****ing sucks. They don't bother to actually play the game since it's impossible on a competitive level.Taunt parties are a terrible thing in Brawl. We need to stop them in Smash 4 before they ruin online for that game too.
Disgustingly negative much?As always, the solution would simply be a good matchmaking system.
Which this game won't have, just like brawl.
I don't mind the online. Lag is annoying but I can still play the game. It doesn't really get me mad. It is pretty difficult to play the game competitively though. but I can still try right? I'd like to play local multiplayer too just I'm pretty much the only person I know that plays smash. CPU's are too easy.Taunt parties exist because Brawl's online ****ing sucks. I don't think they'll appear as much in Sm4sh. But again, I don't really care since I'm going to play online only if there's something to unlock. Local multiplayer all the way.
I wish that worked but they just feed each other kills to reset their damage. So you are left with high percents while they chase you down and kill you on smaller stages.I'd pick jigglypuff and carefully rest on them.
Or do a hit-and-run with Fox or Sonic.
It's the way Sakurai + the Wii & Wii 2 have trained me.Disgustingly negative much?
I get you're trying to make a stupid, tasteless joke, but it's Wii U, and the Wii had some games that had a great online experience, like Mario Strikers and Mario Kart Wii. Sonic & All-Stars Racing has great online, and Nintendo has shown interest in adapting the online medium into their games, like with the Miiverse integration on Super Mario 3D World. It's the way Sakurai + the Wii & Wii 2 have trained me.
Sakurai hates any and all ranking systems, and if you could taunt in KIU there'd be taunt parties there also. There's literally zero reason to think the match-making system won't be better this time around. Nothing of Brawl's level has come from Nintendo or Bamco in the years following it's launch, so what exactly is the worry?
Not seeing the reason that the lack of a ranking system instantly means a bad match-making system, or your point about KI:U. Like D-idara said, there will always be griefers, but that has absolutely nothing to do with the match-making which would make it easier to avoid such people.Sakurai hates any and all ranking systems, and if you could taunt in KIU there'd be taunt parties there also.
Match making and rankings go hand-in-hand. There's absolutely no matchmaking or rankings in KIU, and it shows. You'll be fighting noobs who don't even understand how to use powers one minute, and the next you'll be in a room full of OHKO weaponry. Not seeing the reason that the lack of a ranking system instantly means a bad match-making system, or your point about KI:U. KI:U worked out well thanks to the point value of weapons, and honestly neither I nor most people I've known that have the game have had more than a few bad match ups in there. Having "OHKO weaponry" doesn't amount to all that match if the players isn't good.Match making and rankings go hand-in-hand. There's absolutely no matchmaking or rankings in KIU, and it shows. Value has nothing to do with any matchmaking. And I can handle OHKO weaponry just fine, I'm just pointing out how matchmaking is completely random. Anybody who's played for a decent amount of time will tell you that.KI:U worked out well thanks to the point value of weapons, and honestly neither I nor most people I've known that have the game have had more than a few bad match ups in there. It wasn't a perfect system, but it certainly isn't as inconsistent as you seem to suggest, at least not in my opinion.
Or as they all taunt you can hit them. The online mode was killed thanks to these.
Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to prevent them; we can either leave or just join in.
It's not like he's the only one in charge though. Quite frankly, his reasoning, so that local players wouldn't be bummed out to learn they're not the best, was really really stupid.Sakurai hates any and all ranking systems, and if you could taunt in KIU there'd be taunt parties there also.
