Like when you go to a tournament what are things that players forget or don't know like shield grabbing or a useful move
I guess people would forget about certain matchups, if they're preparing for things like Fox or Falco, or different stage advantages like what Dreamland 64 gives you in terms of a higher ceiling. I would assume they'd forget very minor things that they think wouldn't matter that much and then they get obliterated.

Or the chance someone doesn't play with a top 8 character and get bopped not knowing the matchup :p

Players often play too defensively at tournaments and don't pay enough attention to their % in relation to their opponents.

Me personally, stop-dodge. It would be so useful to me but I just forget. It's the same for Sm4sh as well :(

1. Do the Marth Killer, c'mon it's so dang easy. It works on many characters with single hitbox recoveries.
2. ROLL FROM LEDGE! or do a well timed and tricky hax dash to fake out like you are letting go of ledge to cover options. Then roll up after regrab when they try for the ledge they thought was safe.
3. Against ICs, players often don't finish off Nana ASAP whenever they separate them. That should be top priority unless you have a guaranteed gimp / KO on PoPo.

Me personally, stop-dodge. It would be so useful to me but I just forget. It's the same for Sm4sh as well :(
Oh man one thing I absolutely love doing is to dash or DD approach in neutral then shield stop - spot dodge as I get in their attack / approach range. It works way too often with characters that have a good spot dodge like my Pikachu & Mario (very effective against Marths), always baits something out when used as a mix up. The 14-7 Spot dodge is actually kind of OP, but a lot of people even seasoned veterans make fun of using it at all.....yet it works on them time and time again. And multiple spot dodges FTW, mind games :colorful:

Grabbing more, camping more, chaingrabbing more, taking any and all edgehog opportunities, going for damage instead of an edgeguard opportunity (when it's given), recognizing when you go into autopilot sooner.

So many.

I often forget that Roy, Zelda, Donkey Kong and Ness are characters in the game.

I throw a lot of my mix-up game out the window when I get into intense games. Against my Jiggs friend I always try to remember how much he'll shield my nairs so I want to aim for landing behind him into shine turn around grab as Fox, but I always forget about it and all the other shenanigans I come up with. I just dread fighting against Jiggs as Fox since I'd say I'm mid level so the match-up is pretty hard for me, or I at least have to work very hard not to make a fatal mistake.

I start to become too aggressive with the same approach for my own good, missing a few L-cancels and end up getting shield grabbed.
