For Glory 1-1 seems like a perfect way to train, but there are a few major problems.
-Fight on stages with no platforms. (Which isn't too bad, but smash isn't designed for land battle)
-Online Lag. (Dodging is OP online due to the online lag, which brings up many issues)
-Casuals play on their. (Dang casuals. Get off For Glory's lawn!)

Now people might say that just play with your friends, but some people don't have friends, or just have friends who are casuals.

So I made this thread for people discussing other ways players can practice or train without For Glory.

To start. I say amiibos can really help with reaction time IMO. Since the amiibos is basically a lvl 15 cpu when fully leveled up. (Depends on your playstyle though)

It doesn't fix the lag issue (that's going to be a problem online no matter what, basically) but there are a number of online ladders (NintendoDojo and Anther's Ladder are some examples), if that's your thing.

I'm sure everyone has thought of this before, but I personally practice some advanced techniques in training mode. Thats the only thing I do offline. After a couple of hours I got down perfect pivoting and foxtrotting. Learned how to ledge cancel quick attack, learning more about greninja's spike upair. Just things which you HAVE to practice before implementing in competitive play. I havent found much else to do to train, unfortunately. It seems like you just search for hours until you find the perfect matchup on FG, then you play for hours with a guy on/above your skill level. Those sessions are always the best. Otherwise, I think its just a matter of going to tourneys and experiencing the local scene.

Online Ladders are the way to go. You'll be playing against people at your skill level (for the most part) and playing on common non-final destination legal stages like Smashville, Battlefield, etc.
