This is a little event my Physics class is participating in, the West Point Bridge Design Contest. The purpose is to create a wooden bridge that holds the most weight with the least amount of mass. This is for discussion, past experiances, insight, and sharing of designs and ideas in reguards to this project.

We did one of those with toothpicks and paper when I was in junior high, I think.

Oh yes, this thing. We all had to do it for a grade but none were good enough to compete lol.

I had to do this in my CADD class in high school. It was the funnest assignment ever!

Yea I did the same thing in 8th grade

The one with the most weight held had a lot of triangles around the base. Which makes the most sense because it distributes weight more evenly, but also try arcs they can also hold and support a lot of weight
