We need a functional server

The back up is not doing well imo. With constant ds issues it makes it almost impossible to run games with 90% of the people in it. It seems like everyone I get a game with has packet loss issues etc. and none of this happened with galaxy. WW is a good alternative it seems, so why doesn't everyone go there?

Is there a way the community could donate to improve the backup?

Maybe Slink and his infinite wisdom can figure this out (read with all the sarcasm you wish).

Join the Skype group. It is infinitely more better than going on a server and playing with randoms. I've gotten more quality games through the Skype group in a day than maybe a week of going on the server, hosting a game, and waiting for someone to join. Also, I would advise people to just play on the West Wonderland server while Firo gets around to fixing the NY server, so yeah, I dunno why people don't play there, but people just don't know any better I guess.

Has anyone tried playing on exc?

I was dsing every game with this guy on 2 frames on LAN. Changed to Exc, got 3 frames but went for 10+ games without dsing. It really didn't seem to make a huge difference in quality either.

I've started playing on West Wonderland and it's been great so far. I never went excellent on the NY server but I'll try it out and see how it goes.

Getting skype helps. You can also request people to move to other servers so long as they're not some random folk. Or learn how to set up p2p.
