I said my other quote for the lulz. It could have happened, but the GCN's and Melee's release prevented Sonic to be in Melee. Since time was so close to both thing's releases and Nintendo had less than two years to make Melee and package it with the GCN.

I read, long, long ago, just a year or so after Melee came out, I was reading a Nintendo Power an interview with one of the big guys at Sega, I think the one who created Sonic and pals. He said that he would love to see Sonic characters in a Smash brothers game. Can't provide this, as I'm only going by my memory and it was a long while ago. Sorry.

i agree, back then sega didnt have an offering to give for nintendo. But when Mario & sonic at the olymipic games came out, then it showed that sonic is in Brawl

Sonic is in Brawl, so this news isn't a big deal. It would have been awesome though Although after Sonic Heros, I thought Sonic would never be in a good game again...

I'm so **** tired of everyone saying that after Sonic Heroes there have been no good Sonic titles. I'm sorry but not all of the Sonic games have been a flunk. Namely Sonic Riders and all of his handheld games. I'm just glad that not eveyone hates Sonic, but why did alot of people want him in and then think he would just ruin the game being in it.

Sonic Riders was mediocre at best. Just sayin'. The Sonic Rush series is the only good games they've made lately.
