Waveshining problems

Hey there,

i'm relatively new to fox but I've been able to do a little bit of waveshining here and there while not directly attacking an opponent. I basically do it in training mode to practice, but there's one issue I am having trouble with right now.

While simply going left or right without opponent interaction, mine works fine. But as soon as I shine an opponent, I don't break out of the shine fast enough by jumping. It seems it just takes longer to jump out of it if you hit an opponent with it.. But the earliest I can jump out of it seems too late for a successful waveshine.

I also don't see that length of time passing when I watch waveshining videos on the net.

Is there something I'm missing?

It's really all about practicing on opponents. You can waveshine whether you hit or miss. Just keep up the practice.

Its not even that. There is a bit of hit lag. The shine itself sort of blinks when you make contact with it. This makes for a slightly slower waveshine when you are actually hitting your opponent. Just time it a tad later.

CunningKitsune's Fox Guide.

I'm currently working on the waveshine and whenever I get the motions to work (ie. shine->wavedash(not triangle jump)->shine...repeat to infinity) I always come up short distance wise on the second shine...I know that not all w-dashes are the same length but even when I get a perfect one it doesn't go quite far enough. Am I not doing it fast enough or are my wave dashes just not quite far enough??

Combination of probably a slow Waveshine and a non-perfect Wd.

Make it second-nature to perfect WD, with your controller almost completely horizontal. Your waveshine should be fast too, about as fast as...you can barely see the pentagonal shine at all. :)
