Waveshining/Multishining with Tap Jump?

Normally, I wavedash with tap jump because I find it faster than X/Y, but I've heard it's extremely difficult waveshining/multishining with tap jump.

Is it recommended to use X/Y for multishining/wavedashing? Will it help me in the long run, because it really doesn't seem optimal to use tap jump since I've heard it's extremely hard and multishining will be inconsistent.

Just learn to use X or Y, it'll help in the long run.

That applies to jumping in general too, not just jumping out of shine. You'll thank yourself for it later.

I use tap jump normally for just regular jumping. I always have and its mostly that I'm stubborn and that its difficult to change. I still use x/y to wavedash and shffl just because its difficult to be as quick on the tap jump. It's probably a good habit to get into using x/y for more complicated mechanics.
