I've practiced so that I can shine and wavedash out of it on the first available frame. But I can't for the life of me get the timing right with the extra frames of lag before you can get out of shine when you actually hit somebody with it. I can shine and jump out but when i try to turn it into a waveshine i just sit there in the shine and cry softly.

Remember, the delay for the inputs between when the shine happens, and when you need to start pressing jump to start the wavedash, is larger than doing it without hitting an opponent. Practicing waveshining without hitting someone with the shine first is totally pointless. Just practice it in Training Mode at 2/3 speed, and make sure you can do a couple perfect ones. Then speed it up. Do it against Peach or Link to get started :)

This is very important! Its also important to note that timing is also different when your shine hits on shield. If you have the 20XX hackpack you can practice against an infinitely shielding opponent to get that timing down.
