should i return the stick to neutral after every shine or just slide it to the direction i wanna go? If it doesn't matter id like to know which you would prefer me to learn as i have not built any habits.

I L-cancel and wavedash on L, is it possible to nair l cancel and wavedash back without ever relesing the button? Or do i have to release it and then wavedash? (Sorry is there already is tons of these questions in this forum already answered)

when I waveshine, I roll the stick from down > the wavedash angle I want, so yeah you don't have to go back to neutral.
air dodge only happens when you get that "click" at the very end of your L press, so if you want to L cancel something and then wavedash, you'd have to release the L button just past the click, yeah.

Actually kinda curious now if it's possible to L cancel with light press, and then do the wavedash with the click. trying it now is extremely awkward, but not sure if it's possible

Well first thing's first.

You can't waveland if you've done an aerial because you can't airdodge. Once you've l-cancelled you're on the ground - so you can't airdodge unless you jump again. That's just a nair wd back, which is good. An alternative is jumping, pressing a, then air controlling back which is a similar effect.

As for waveshining... I always release the stick. If you don't then wd back will turn you around - unless that's what you want. Then you're basically buffering a fast walk that way. Instead I let the stick reset then dash in the direction I want. You probably shouldn't exclusively pick one.
