This is better than Sonic! I can't wait to see how the tourneyf@gs hold up now without exploits to rely on, its gonna be priceless.

*pop, pop, BANG*

WTF? Anyone else here that? Sounds as if a million voices were crying out in unison, then suddenly became an hero.

Someone get ahold of Dylan_Tnga, the Collective is most interested to hear his reaction to this, if he hasn't already killed himself.

Aside from the fact that we really didn't need another god**** wavedash thread...

Where's your proof? All I've seen so far is some IGN'ers saying they haven't been able to do it, and honestly, with the game four months off, that doesn't mean a **** thing.

Edit: Dear SWF, why are the most basic of words like the one above filtered out. Love, Fanewgie.

And someone lock this before this guy starts another **** flame war over wavedashing. Who the hell cares? We know Brawl is going to be a change of pace from Melee, why can't people just deal with that?

Wavedashing doesn't really help as much as you think. L canceling does though but that doesn't even matter because that is dependent on how fast the recovery is anyway so pros are not hurt at all.

Lol, DLZX.

If you think tournament play is ALL about Wavedash then you know NOTHING about competitive Smash and should just quit.
LUWLZ

I know quite a bit about SSB. More than most people I know personally. Yeah, I know that wavedashing isn't all the tourneyf@gs cling too, but taking it away is a hell of a start.

Enjoy your broken mechanics in Melee whilst you can, because it looks like they intend to make a non-broken product this time around.

they were using wii motes to play. the only jump button was up on the d pad. now imagine trying to jump and then airdodge downwards right away with that. not impossible, but very difficult.

Edit: taken from another thread

i guess its not as difficult as i thought

I won't flame, because I'm curious to see why you think you're so much better than the "tourneyf@gs" who put more into learning and perfecting their game than you're probably capable of doing. If wavedashing hadn't been in Melee, they'd still be busting their *** to be top dog, and you'd still be the troll who has a vendetta against the game because his 8 year old niece learned to SHL and beat you(ok...sorry...maybe that's flamish).

The only reason I care about whether or not Wavedashing returns is because (IMO)Luigi isn't even playable without it. And if it doesn't return, I'll just choose a main with better traction.

If I may? I think it's realistically possible Sakurai and his R&D team are well aware of this. Even if wavedashing is out (I haven't read all the threads on it yet to know whether it is or isn't)...I can reasonably them sitting down and saying things like:

"Okay. Why is Luigi failing? Is it a problem with his design, or a problem with the details? Do we need to just buff him, or change his core gameplay philosophy?" - Things like that, and figuring out how to build upon Luigi from there.

First of all, I have to say, I LOVE topics like this. HIARIOUS.

Secondly, it's totally bunk. I'm open to the idea that WD won't be in Brawl...but I think it's unlikely. And I wouldn't ever want to say it's not a worthwhile technique. It is very useful. Especially for specfic character. IE every character but Zelda.

I'm surprised you guys care enough/are silly enough to respond to him rationally. Number 1, doesn't really matter if its in the game or not, short-airdodges can serve their own purposes. 2, ... yeah... tourney***z will win local brawl tourneys too... with pikachu >.>.

And who have you played? Any pros? Semi Pros? Have you been to any tournies, how are your records? Who do you even play as? Do you even play with advanced techniques? Don't tell me you play with items?
Don't tell me you DON'T play with items. Might as well play Street Fighter 3 with super bars off, what a joke.

My characters include Ganondorf, Falcon, Marth (whom I've stopped using since EVERYONE uses him now) and Young Link, to name a few.

The last tournytard tournament I entered was about 2 years ago in Athens, GA where I cleaned up with Falcon simply by d!cking around until I finally was beaten in the semi finals. I should mention that Falcon is my "worst" out of those that I actually play with, but he's my favroite character so thats who I play with.

Never wd'd or shffl'd once.

It was indeed a CLACK-fest, funny stuff.

Dear DLZX:

If you got into the semi-finals of a tournament as captain falcon without shffling, it wasn't a "tourneytard" tournament, as you so lovingly call them. You played a bunch of scrubs.

Have a good day.

Maybe you should invest time mastering your character and the game as opposed to putting all your stock into cheap exploits.

You wouldn't be the first tourneytard I've disposed of, Cap'n CLACKer

The people who invest more time and effort in the game deserve to be better. For sure there will be other techniques and exploits to learn where dedicated players will use them correctly. Pathetic noobs who are too busy whining about wavedashing(I'm thinking Flosbury Flop here) cannot even invest time as much as the rest will be left in the dust, and this applies to all competitive activities. How have we been owned?

lol all trash talk aside you should attend one of the more challenging tournaments in ATL, GA. check out the Atlantic south region topics.

also alot of people who play competively here hardly use WD in matches. The same goes for national tournaments.

If ur just a 12year old scrub that thinks hes good just because he beats his friends at this game, then just ignore this post.

lol i must be reallly drunk for showing up in the brawl boards lolz

And this is where you lose all credibility.
He had no credibility in the first place.

Please give the forum your definition of mastering a character and cheap exploits?
