I've seen Mang0 use it a lot and it seems to me that in many cases mastering this technique will give you free shines. How should one do it? I do it by holding L -> jumping while releasing L -> then pressing L again, cuz I'm uncomfortable with using R. However I can't get up my consistency. Any tips?

Well. The way I do it depends on whether I'm going back into shield or not. If I am, then I just wavedash with R while holding L down. If not, then I let go of L after starting the wavedash. I used to shield with R, until I learned about this, so I get where you are coming from in a way.
