i don't main fox, but i play him from time to time, it;s gotten to the point where on a good day i can up to 4 consecutive waveshine/dashes with only using L and the control stick, my friends say i'm crazy and i should go to using x/y as if short hopping, and dont get me wrong, i use x/y plenty, its how i short hop with fast fallers like fox and falcon, but... i dont know about this situation, i feel like if i keep trying at it ill be able to waveshine more effectily with the control stik/ L as apose to having x/y in the process at all

am i just being stupid?

You may be limited with the control stick, unless you're only planning on waveshining with it. Keep in mind you could just slide from Y to B and still get a frame perfect waveshine.

Also works from X to b if you already use X for short hopping and don't feel like changing on Y just for that

I've drillshined Captain Falcon and gotten a 19 combo using the control stick to wavedash. It's not crazy; just do what works for you.

I used to Sh with the control stick, WD with it too. Its not a good habit. I use X+R now. Much better than before.

If you're stubborn and attached to your original ways, then theres no harm in usingi the CS to do it. Keep it mind it is ridiculously easier to use a grey button instead.

it's significantly harder to learn to do with the same consistency, length, and speed as using buttons, but no one is stopping anyone from using the stick.

Seems easier for me. X+R is restricted to movement only in my right hand, so it keeps it simple. I don't see the point in complicating the process with the control stick, or multi-tasking with a jump button + L.
