Is there any way to use my Gamepad as a screen but still play with the Gamecube controller? Almost every Wii U game has the feature were the Gamepad basically becomes a TV while you play with another controller, how can I do this for Smash?

Click/touch on the screen to change mode from character percentage to playing. Just turn on your game, grab the gc controller (if you have the wavebird awesome.), and look at your gamepad screen while navigating with your gc controller =P.

Yes.

Long answer: You can use the GamePad as a TV screen and still use another controller. I do it all the time (but with the Wii U Controller)

screen is way too tiny for my tastes to do this, especially on big stages like Palutena's temple...
But yes as the others said it is indeed possible.

I wish it would save my preference instead of making me tap it at the start of every match (in Smash mode against people, at least), but it's useful. Works well for travel, too.
