I recently found this great game called Warsow, a free fast-paced FPS similar to Quake 3 Arena with a great community. The game is made to be played at a competitive level and is somewhat popular all around the globe.

I've been playing this for a few days and it's really well-made and quite balanced, too. One of the main features of Warsow is the many movement techniques one can use to move around the map as fast as possible and to take some (flashy) shortcuts when possible. This includes techniques such as dashing, wall jumps, bunny hopping, strafe jumping, etc.

Now, the only problem I've had with this game is the low number of peoples playing online. Which is why I created this topic - I'm hoping we can get a small Warsow comunity here and organize matches every now and then. Is that a good idea?

Anyways, here's the link of the official site where you can download the game.

http://www.warsow.net/

And some features and small screenshots taken from the site -

* Standalone game for Windows and Linux
* 3D Engine based on Qfusion (a modification of Quake 2 GPL engine)
* eSport oriented FPS
* Fast-paced gameplay focused on trix (trick jumps) and art of move
* Complete Power-up System including Weak and Strong fire mode for each weapon
* Cartoonish graphics with celshading, mixing dark, flashy and dirty textures, matching with action full of fun and speed

If this become slightly popular, we could as well have a Hamachi network for Warsow and peoples from smashboards, which would make organizing matches easier.

Cool. I'll attempt to try it out, but I'm worried because my internet connection is really bad. Hopefully it will get fixed soon.

The bots are quite a challenge if you want to practice alone, but of course it's kinda lame and not the same as playing against humans.
