I'm trying to learn Marth, and right now I am practicing tech skill and things like wavedashing and SHFFL. I guess it's because I'm still new but when I go to the threads that talk about advanced techniques that I'm interested in, it doesn't make any sense at all. Is there a way to understand that or does it come with more experience? if it does, I just want to know the next thing I should work on. Thanks!

If you're having trouble with how things are explained, you should ask questions, talk to players 1on1, etc.

You will get information tailored for you and nothing beats it.

Learning all the different terminology takes some time, I've learned that just from playing and watching matches seem to help a lot. Often watching matches with a good commentator help a lot because they will explain what the player is doing. Try not to stress too much about this, it will come in time. If you need any help i'd be glad to assist you!

I'm in the same boat, just learning the technical stuff but it's coming fairly natural to me but I don't have a human to practice with very often.

Try to see if anyone wants to tutor/teach you. If you're up to that I'd help you if you want.

When I was starting out, I'd first learn the "theory" (execution). I remember trying to wavedash against bots and always end up getting hit lol so once I was able to wavedash, SHFFL, etc. in training, I'd go on youtube and learn the "application" (how the pros used them). Watching the pros gives you a feel on how you can and should use the techniques which you can learn from and incorporate into your game

Oh, and be patient. These things can take a while. Good luck!

Really sound advice. I have been learning for awhile and I'm finally starting to see the game better. It's so awesome. Thanks!
