I was playing Melee this morning (because I can't play brawl, sniffle), and I noticed that Sakurai hasn't said jack squat about wallhopping being in Brawl. So I was wondering, do you peeple think it will be?

by the way, fox's wallhop sucks. I don't even know why it's in there, it actually makes you lose altitude, it's so itty-bitty.

Glad this is back, and you did make a good point. Nothing has even been mentioned on wall jumping on the Dojo. I liked wall jumping.

The things a character needs to have to be my main:
-Wall Jump
-Meteor smash
-medium to great jumping

Things I would prefer characters to have to be my main:
-Tether recovery
-Reflecting move

I used to piss my friends off on fourside when they meteor smased me by walljumping back up. I can see myself using the footstool jump quite alot though since it basically gives everyone a meteor smash, and chances are if i can falcon punch someone/charge shot someone or meteor smash, i will do the latter.

I don't really see it having much use, less use than the Footstool jump, even.
It's pretty useful on Fourside when you either A. Are about to die from accidentally falling without realizing it or B. Get knocked down there and use it to get back up. It also has its uses of getting back onto the stage such as when someone is edgeguarding you can let go of the edge, wall jump off of the wall that's close to the edge, jump backwards, and you can attack them to push them back or you go over their heads (if not over their heads you can roll behind them before they attack you again).

And on Temple, with Falco, you can use that one platform area that's near the underground as a faster way to get up with wall jumping if you jump backwards and go on up. You only need to jump back once because Falco's backwards jump is higher than his forward jump just by a little (that and you can't really wall jump when you're facing the wrong way). If you use one jump, when you get back up there after the second wall jump you can attack someone that's in your general direction by jumping and doing a Down + A in the air.

Wall jumping is actually quite useful.

If you follow up Fox's walljump with a double jump...
"This is when you use your midair jump!"
...then you'll gain a little amount of altitude.

I liked the inclusion of walljumps, even if they aren't useful in a competitive game. It's fun to do if you're too lazy/paranoid to try a normal jump...I hope they return to Brawl (which I think is likely)
