My friend plays these to characters, and always manages to beat me. Hes a little better than I am, but I'm getting really tired of losing. Any advice to combat these two characters?

Pika and jiggs are really light and attack quickly, though they have several attacks that do lag.

Focus your gameplay on defense and punish their approaches with zair. Find an opening and land multi hit attacks such as fair, uair, and screw attack for damage, finish with dtilt. Dtilt is a solid off-the-top kill move. It's a great way to exploit their lightness.

Remember, you can recover from horizontal kill moves, but you can only DI when it comes to vertial kill moves.

Chargeshot seems to work really well too. It kills them at lower percents.

From my thread about Pikachu. Works like a charm.
ya I saw you say that in that post and it works quite well, I only have problems at times hitting them with z-air because they are so darn short, not that its impossible tho :p just got to work on it

Don't worry too much about height. If you use zair at the top of your jump, the grapple will come out, reach maximum range and fall with your body until you touch the ground. If you use it too early, you will begin to reel in the grapple before you land. Remember, timing is key.

How on earth to you utilt out of shield fast enough? (I have tap jump on, btw, for up-b out of shield)

And do you just have to space yourself really far away? God, I hate Pika's dsmash.

You should NEVER utilt out of shield. Bowser could fsmash you before you would even be through with your lag. j/k but don't do it. Nor should you ever Usmash out of shield. Dtilt out of a shield drop is alright for low startup lag. Dtilt is more effective at vertical KOing than utilt is anyways.

You don't need to space yourself very far away. Just out of Pika's A attack range. I hate dsmash too. If you get hit by it, just DI down, then away. Just don't DI up, it will only pull you in more and set up for Pika's thunder attack.
