VR style online

If you haven't played mario kart 7 ( never bothered with Wii) you should know that there is a point system known as VR. You get VR by racing. The game matches you up with people who have similar VR levels. This ststem would be efficient for smash, not as a ranking system, but as means to really test your abilities.When you play brawl online, you typically get paired with noobs, this is why a VR concept could be very useful.

Rankings? We already have Sakurai saying he doesn't want it because it favors the best players, which is ridiculous.

And Here I thought that Tekken Tag 2 was the only game to match people of similar skill level.Really, this is the best way to go about any online. It's no fun getting yer ass kicked by a pro and its not fair for you to be kicking the ass of someone who is new to the game. Once you play online like this, you will never wanna play against just any random person again. Honestly, I can't believe any online game would match you with just anyone anymore, since assigning skill levels to players is so simple.

Anyway, WE DON'T NEED RANKS Your skill level could be a number that is stored but NOT DISPLAYED on your profile in any way. Your skill level raises or lowers depending on how ya do in matches against people. The game will try to match you with whoever has the best connection with you and the closest skill level.

Sometimes I feel like Sakurai thinks weird. Ranking system not only pleasure you and get you to be a better player but it help to put you in even matches. I don't know if I'm thinking of it the wrong way.
