So I noticed that when I hold the directional button for about 3 seconds, the emulator seems to think I'm holding the button for 1 extra second after.
Lets say I hold forward and I stop pressing (just normal walking). Mario keeps walking 1 second after I let go. This results in jumps to over shoot. Taking hits you should have. Constantly habitual pressing of the opposite direction or jumps coming short as you try to be more delicate with your input.
There's no input delay its all very responsive...but a little too responsive. I have a NES I know my inputs are correct. Why can't nintendo do what emulators have gotten right for years? I'm very disappointed with this... I thought I'd enjoy a level or two of mario 1, lost lvls and mario 3 inbetween bouts of smash. But its really freakin unplayable.
Are people having similar issues? This is on the 3DS.
