Villager's Fishing Rod

Where is his fishing rod? They pretty much gave him most of his tools and they just leave this one out? I feel like it could be some form of tether or maybe replace that horrendous neutral air of his with it. It may be small, but it kinda pisses me off. What do you guys think?

that tether idea sounds great ! idk, i mean you're right, fishing is one of the main activities in the game
i think they did i nice job with his/her move set, i won't complain about it, looks nice, definitely a great character !

Yeah he's got everything except that,. I remember when i was making a moveset for Villager back in the Brawl days, the Fishing Rod was his recovery move.

What interesting is that the Villager attacks people with a stick. That could have easily been his Fishing Rod.

yea, i guess he could wave around his fishing rod instead of the stick. would have been longer reach and everything
plus the fishing line and hook could have added damage and stuff, lots of possibilities. if I'm not mistaken, sticks have nothing to do with animal crossing, no ?

Would've been a better grab and throws than the Net IMO.

Would be an interesting taunt if he was a level with water. Just go up to the edge and taunt in the direction of the water and he casts his rod.

You probably found this out already, but it's not a victory pose, which is odd since he has the net/beetle, shovel/fossil and a kind of generic third one.

He's there holding a sea bass looking mildly ticked off that his friend just caught a shark moments earlier
