Video Game Pros

One thing I see on this forum a lot (but in forums for other video games to,) is a lot of people being called Pros at a game. What exactly does this entitle? In sports if you make all of your income from something you are considered a Pro, but if you have to supplement it with a second income you are semi pro. Why are so many people called pro on so many video game forums?

I think people just like to talk themselves up. I do it too, because I'm a pro at Mario Kart: Double Dash. xD

What does it entitle? Nothing really. Respect? Doubt it. Acceptance? Nah. Self satisfaction. Maybe *shrugs.*
