Very basic monitor question

I'm not sure about all monitors but my BenQ doesn't have a separate audio in line, only one 3.5 mm jack that will carry the HDMI or whatever sound. I have a similar set up to what you're trying to do, and what I do is just connect my Wii to cheap speakers like these

I might be mistaken here, but couldn't you just get the Sewell HDMI adapter for Wii and hook up to your monitor via HDMI? or was there some reason you wanted to use VGA specifically?

Think they intend to use the HDMI port for something already. A splitter box (or whatever you would call it) with a Sewell could work, but using VGA for the Wii signal works fine

If you're worried about the input lag, there are some great websites that give a list of modern monitor input lag amounts.
