Venting about lame play

I know I'm surely preaching to the quire and I'm not a very good player anyways, but I can't help but feel as if I had been clowned into a loss by losing to a very lame Ganandorf. Playing peach against them gave me a zoning advantage with turnip, but they genuinely would never approach and always waited till their doublejump to attack. Iget that it's punishing not being able to seal the deal, make the reads, adapt to adversity. I'm cool with losing. But losing to this kind of gameplay has me feeling very sour. It was not fun to play against at any point. They weren't playing to win, they were playing to not lose. Winning is winning, but I do have umbrage with lame play robbing what i may consider the spirit of the game of melee to be. Like how Brawl drained all the life out of the movement and punished you for trying to push further than it would allow, we rejected it. So why this? I don't even hate the way Hungry box plays because even if it is defensive, it isn't so passive that he's non-interactive. He still capitalizes on opportunities and seeks to make openings. But this was just LAME. I watch something recently where Mango is talking to Lucky about how essentially "no one plays melee anymore. They just play optimally". It's hard not agree when so many people now, online or otherwise, that I've played would rather wait to be chased to punish you for playing rather than forcing you to chase them (like using a zoner or a run-away spacey strat).

Yes. I am salty. I should just get good. I am bad. No Johns. I am just not happy about what I lost to, not that I lost. I upset with how they secured victory, not how they defeated me. I'm free to any thoughts to this beat-to-death topic.
