Here's a simple way I use to practice invincible ledge dashing without 20XX in order of difficulty.

Move up to the next level after accomplishing it 10/10 times. If Fox says "Otta" during the ledgedash, you didn't do it perfectly.
If the joystick was a clock you would angle it from 6 O'clock to 4 and from 6 O'clock to 8.
The jump button to airdodge timing is just like his WD.

Easy
Practice on the left edge of Onett.
The steep slope makes it easier to execute and you don't automatically die if you miss.

Medium
Go to Hyrule temple and practice on the top edge.
This edge is flat like in most competitive stages and is on the right part where is a bit uncomfortable motion for the thumb in comparison. You also don't die if you miss.

Hard
Stay in temple. Go to the bottom cylinder platform and ledge dash from side to side. There you can also practice quick ways to grab ledge on short distances like shine turn around > firefox or illusion hug for example.
