I think you'd get better turnouts if you only did one big tournament once a month rather than once a week. With too many you'll have people showing up getting scattered around, and since it's smaller less people will be inclined to come. But I don't know your incentives, having 5 people show up 4 times a month definitely beats having 15 people show up once a month when converting cash to iSC. I hope you guys can pull in some peepz, good luck.

Yup, thanks for the feedback!

Our smash tourneys have been extremely popular already, like in the last tourney we had we had 39 people show. Even though its a weekly event, we still have tons of people come in. I was just trying to spread the word even further. But yeah, if you live in the area, you should totally come in! Its a blast.

You're speakin' to the best Smashers in the state of Utah when you post on Smashboards.

The rules you guys are setting up are kind of lame, though-- but I guess 2 stock is good for how many people are showing up.

But yeah-- it doesn't matter what I think. I live in St. George. :p

They're aiming at a slightly different audience that us though, AND they of course want tournaments to go MUCH quicker than we're running them...

But holy crap yeah! If there's already that many showing up you guys should definitely keep going weekly. Thursday's usually a tough day for me to make it, but when I'm free one week I'll definitely stop by!

Yeah, sorry for the late response.

Usually those who come to our tourneys are more casual players than competitive, but when it gets down around the final 4-8 players they're usually the same people who come every week. We even get a couple people from the smash boards who come pretty often, FoxTheStampede for example. (He's taken first almost every time.) Im just trying to broaden the spectrum of players who come in, good, bad, amazing, anyone!

Also, just for an update on our last tourney, it was on Thursday the 9th. 39 people came again (i pretty sure it was the same peeps that came last time, we have a group of "regulars" that come in almost every week). It was random characters, random map, 2 stock, no time limit. First place received $30 in store credit, 2nd got $10 in store credit.

Next week will be a 2v2. We're open for suggestions on how you would like the tourney formatted, so let us know!

Man... if I didn't work at FYE, I'd totally be supporting Play-N-Trade so much more... I'm ashamed of myself...

2v2 though, you should turn team attack "on," Its defaulted "off." Some people might not like it but it's much more fun that way, and it prevents a lot of really cheap tactics. You should also stage it somewhere other than Final Destination, you need a little more room to move around with four people. I'd suggest Pokemon Stadium, Battlefield, or old-school Dream Land (with the wind).

i'll try to make it this thursday.
and go with lengeta's idea- random stages on battlefield, pk stadium, fd, and dl64. $2 per teammate. 90/10 payout is good.

one more thing...you guys should open a pnt in west valley.
