Usurp the hierarchy!

OK, I wonder how fast this thread will be closed, but how many of you have seen a great thread that some "Moderator" decided was not worth his time and closed it based on a bias and objective view? I don't mean to knock any of you guys "up there", but you could at least give a thread the chance to flourish instead of instantly seeking it out just to tear down someone's dreams!
The solution is a simple one: like in the USA government, this forum needs an electoral collage which can decide for themselves the worth of a thread and thus influence the decision of the moderators. Give some power to the people! (Unless the thread is REALLY bad, in that case, just instantly close it!)
I am not really sure if I expect any response to this thread (except for angry moderators), but I just needed to get that off my chest...good lord, I hope I don't get banned.

None. Infact I see many threads that I think should have been closed long ago alive and piping to this day. Giving power to the people is exactly like giving women the vote, undeserved and wrong. I was a big fan of the "shall I give him the ole one two? aye aye cap'n!" system, what a fine piece of genius that was, shame it didn't last. Bring it back. I digress. You see, mods and superiors are in their position for a reason, their judgement is valued, proven and trusted. Mine and your's isn't.

You've also gone about this in the wrong tact, forum disputes would be the best place.

A. Do you have any idea how much red tape you would be adding solely by creating a group of people to vote if a topic gets closed.
B. Look at Sporkman's post. Lots of posts aren't like that, ie trying to reply to the topic, make the topic worthwhile and good, and instead if a topic is slightly odd, they drive it to the ground fast.
