Using Up B in the air as an offensive move

It does around 30 damage if timed properly, and I'm wondering why no one uses this trick. I think it would be fairly effective as a damage builder, especially if you short hop out of your shield and up b next your opponent while tilting left or right.

But you would be left vulnerable and could be punished if used in the air or you could just fall to your doom :) Unless you're talking about using up-b near the stage so that you can still climb back on then I guess so. But what i've noticed is that if i go for up-bing in the air i usually jump off the stage do a side B so that i can change direction and get an extra float and then up-B. I do dancing blade (1st attack) only and then up-b to change direction quickly and attack with the up-b. I find it works very well and usually finishes the job.;)
