Using the Mayflash adapter

Hello

I very recently started playing smash and have been using a 360 controller to play, since I found it really annoying to play with having only the digital L and R bind on the triggers and wanted a generic feel to get used to the controller if I ever play on a console at friends I wanted to get a real GC controller.

So I got a friend of mine to buy a real GC controller in japan and send it to me and I bought a mayflash adapter to go with it.

The thing is though that I am kind of feeling it to be a bit sluggish compaired to playing on the 360 controller and I am uncertain if it's just me not being used to the GC or if there actually is some kind of different input lag or whatever and if there is, is it coming from the adapter or is my controller weird?

Just thought I would ask here to check if it's just in my head or if there is something I should fix in dolphin settings or buy another adapter/controller.

Also, is there any good controller setup file specificaly for the GC controller with mayflash adapter that would help me?

My settings look like this now:

(PS: Nevermind the button layout, I took this SS on my laptop which I havent used the GC controller on but all the tresholds, radius and dead zones are what it is on my stationary computer.)

Honestly, I could never find a gc controller setup that worked 100%. the closest thing I could get was setting all of the buttons to 50. The deadzones look fine but drop the c stick to 12 and the main stick to 0.

Edit: added mine for reference. I have all the light shielding **** setup and the c stick set proper n all that.

Thanks! I'll try putting the c stick down a bit and the main to 0 when I get a chance

Still wondering if its all in my head or if the mayflash actually produces more input delay than the 360 controller

The mayflash adapter introduces a considerable amount of input delay.

Also try using a radius of 100 for both sticks, analog threshold on the triggers should be around 30 to make it feel like the gamecube.

How much is "considerable amout of input delay"?

Is the amount so big that it's better for me to keep using the 360 controller even tho it will mess up the L and R trigger or is there another adapter that's worth buying that will decrease the input delay?

I'm currently very scrubby and am pretty much trying to get all the basic techs down. I just don't want to get all weird timings when I finally got it in my muscle memory do to a input delay.

I'm guessing the Raphnet adapter would be the upgrade to get but is it worth to pay out additional 30 CAD to get rid of the input delay this early in the progress?

The mayflash adapter works great. "Considerable delay" is maybe like 1 frame. Just make sure you set both radii to 100.

I think the amount of lag you get HIGHLY depends on the type of monitor you're using. At home I have an HP monitor and when I play there I have absolutely 0 lag through the mayflash adapter, but when I play at work I have what feels like a 3-4 frame delay on a pc that's actually better than my own. Only difference is the monitor I have at work is an LED monitor vs the LCD that I use at home.

Go to displaylag.com and check. Most monitors are usually like 10 ms or a little over half a frame.

I feel a considerable amount of input lag on my mayflash, but I'm using the worst one you could use (the three in one model) and I'm also starting to play at a higher level of tech skill. I'm used to no input lag at all so when I'm trying to perform a lot of actions at once I can definitely feel it. You should be fine with it though to be honest, won't notice anything until down the road possibly, and at that point you can decide on whether or not you'll want to invest in the Wii U GC controller adapter or whatnot. By that time as well, hopefully you'll have a Wii set up with 20xx and some people from the community to play with as well :)
