While i know you can build a PM ISO. its not the best option for me. i don't play PM as often as a newer mod i'm working on, so having a more dynamic file swap would be easier to test mods with. could anyone link me to a tutorial to get it working? only tutorials i have found are about making a PM ISO for net play.

1. Download and install WinImage
2. Put all files except /private/ folder and boot.elf in SD.raw via WinImage
3. Set default ISO to Brawl
4. Open boot.elf in Dolphin

Thanks for the swift reply! on step 2 tho... "put all files except private and boot elf in the sd.raw" do you actually mean the reverse of this? xD or do you mean start the directory after the private folder? the SD.raw should be set up the same as the SD card for gecko right?

Step 2 is exactly what I said. Your SD.raw should contain the /codes/ and /projectm/ folders, and gameconfig.txt. Anything else doesn't go in there.

Ohhhhhhhh i get you. most brawl mods use the private folder, so i was confused. so if i wanted to switch from PM i would use the file folders they use for replacing i assume. (probably gonna be using vbrawl as testing base) no offense PM, is just a pain to mod since there is no open access to the codes. the whole reason i'm using dolphin is to create codes. anything else i can use the wii for. i just want to see what is loading where at what times.

2 more questions. are you still limited to 2 gigs for the SD.raw? i know the formatting is a little different. second i remember loosely that the sd.raw needs to go in a specific location in the dolphin directory. (is it system? i can't remember)

thanks again for the swift replies ^^

Project M uses a different folder for mods. If you're basing your mod on PM, use the PM folder, otherwise you use /private/ as before.

Since you're not loading via stage builder, you can go higher than 2 GB. 32 I believe is the limit.

I believe it goes in the /Wii/ folder, but not 100% sure.

might sound like a nub.. but where is the option to load a elf/dol file? i don't see it. i am pretty sure that have a newer dolphin that supports it too if i'm correct. its v4.02 also i noticed a few problems one directly with dolphin.

debug mode with dolphin makes none of the games load. it stays at o fps with a black screen. (with any wii game. i use the WBFS files i use on the wii wich brings me to the second issue:

for some reason wii back up manager won't transfer my wbfs files to ISO. it loads up fine. goes to process everything, then finishes with no iso or any other files. i use windows 8.1

edit: alright i found a tutorial for gecko on dolphin here :
https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-updated-first-post-how-to-play-brawl-project-m-etc-unofficial

i still need help with the ISO issue tho.

In debug mode, games start paused. You have to press the play button to make them play.

And as far as I know Dolphin can use WBFS files. There shouldn't be any need to convert them to ISOs.

yep i know the emulator reads wbfs ^^ lol i was having issues getting the SD.raw working so was gonna look into something else. actually the reason the SD.raw wasn't working is cause they changed the file path for 4.0+, the wii folder is now in documents rather then with the system files. for some reason 4.0 still installs both directories tho.

i'd still like to know why i can't run WBFS manager tho. its more of an OCD type of reaction but meh lol. maybe the version i have is corrupted i don't think i've ever actually used it since i got my new comp. i'll have internet again soon so i'll be able to test things a little more freely.
