using less smash attacks

i want to know how to use less smash attacks, i think ive been using them way too much recently... any tips?

Get yut butt in t3h air. Shffl like their aint no tomorow! That should get you out of the mood. Also try tilting, some ppl tend to spam smash attacks when the oppenent is still at low percents (0-30) and the oppenent can attack you b4 you can even follow it up, so tilt into smashes instead.

play against ppl that punish ppl who do bad things. and yeah, shffl, laser, and shine. A lot. A whole lot. that's practically all it do. actually that's a lie, but don't let it stop you.

work on moves like waveshine that can work on certain characters like ganondorf,Captain Falcon etc.chaingrabs,utilt combos,shine spiking for a quick kill.so work on putting advanced moves into your style to make you a better player or create your own style.

Get used to short hopping, fast falling, L-canceling, and wavedashing. There are some simple combos like drill kick to shine, or up throw to up air. Like LaserBust said, get in the air. Start with doing simple combos into an up air or a back air.

i do my share of air attacks, need to work hon shffling though. i do happen to use that up throw to up air quit a bit, as my brother and main competitor uses marth

Use jab, tilts, aerials, grabs, and b moves.. Also, smash attacks aren't entirely bad. Just don't use them exclusively like lots of new players tend to do.
