Using DVD Recorder

I looked and didn't see anything about this though I may have missed it. I have a DVD Recorder and am able to put my Brawl games onto a DVD. The DVD player in my laptop can play these DVDs, but the file format isn't a .mov or .wmv or anything like that. Is there a way for me to record or convert what is playing on my DVD and turn it into one of these file formats?

Not sure if this would help but this guy called rapidkirby uses a dvd recorder and he uses Plextor ConvertX if that helps.

Go to google search "any dvd convrter" and download.The bad is that it converts only 3 mins but is free and doesnt expires

That's right! Yeah, I use Magnavox for DVD recording before converting it with #1 DVD Ripper. However, you may need to purchase that DVD extraction program for better results, since it's shareware. By the way, I have a new video capturing device that doesn't crash with Vista.
