Has anyone had any luck in finding an adapter that works with the wiiu GC adapter, or a N64 controller that works with the wiiu?

I'm sorry that I can't be much help here, but I'm genuinely curious; what advantage do you feel you get from the N64 controller? Every time I've played Smash Bros on the N64 it's felt really unpleasant, and like I'm fighting the controller every step of the way. What do you get out of it that I'm missing?

The N64 controller just fits my hands really well, everything is positioned where I feel it should be. The GameCube controllers always cramps up my right hand, and for Smash 4 the only controller I've found that didn't was the 2DS. Though there is some noticeable input lag with the 2ds and the N3dsXl. Honestly the more controllers we can have for Smash the better, and I could see some Smash 64 players coming to the newer game if it supported N64 controllers.

Fair enough, thanks for clarifying. The N64 controller is the only one that I ever really felt uncomfortable with, as opposed to something like the Wii remote and nunchuk, which I never took the time to learn but would have been able to. So it's weird hearing someone say that they dislike the GC controller, but hey, different strokes :p

I'd actually say that the N64 controller is probably my second favorite controller to play with.

Though I did destroy a lot of joysticks in my day...

People need to stop using inferior controllers.
And people like you need to give more respect to others. If you came here just to say that, then go somewhere else, please.
It wasn't even funny. Not even a funny gif or meme in it.

As for the main subject itself, yes, it does exist. You just needed to ask Google. Here's a link here.
It works with a Wiimote on both Wii and Wii U. You pretty much plug the adapter to the wiimote, then plub the controller to the adapter. And it works for Gamecube controllers. So, maybe you should go here.

I actually own that specific adapter and use it regularly (I bought it for Virtual Console games, but it feels very natural for Smash 4 if you set the C-stick to Jump.), so I can heartily recommend it.

A few tips for using it:
  • Leave it on the default button mode. The other modes were designed for the Wii VC, which didn't support customizing controls.
  • Though the X and Y buttons are missing, you can still change costumes by moving the cursor over your character portrait and pressing A. Not quite as quick as choosing with a C button, but hey, there's eight costumes per character instead of four this time.
  • Irrelevant to Smash specifically, but for most VC games, open the VC menu before playing. The Default Button Mode has Z as both ZL and ZR at the same time. So, disable ZR (which is normally the menu) under controller settings, and set L to open the menu instead.
