I just bought an adapter to use a controller on my computer, and I'm having some difficulty. The problem seems to be that all the buttons are be registered as though they are being pressed, at all times. If I go to the controller's settings under devices on my computer, I see that buttons 1,2,3,4,7, and 8 are being pressed continuously, about twice a second each and the axis input is jumping everywhere as well. Is there an easy fix to this that I'm just missing?

first time i have entered a controller help thread and it was not about unchecking raw data.
what type of an adapter are you using, have you trying searching for drivers.
if there are drivers it auto installed, i would recommend deleting them and reinstalling, just to know that the trouble isn't there.

Well I'm having trouble manually finding a driver for this. When I plug the adapter in, a driver is automatically installed, and there are no updates for it.

Hm, I plugged another controller in and it works fine. Good to see that the adapter works, bad to see that my good controller doesnt work with it. Strange.

My guess is that you have one of those "PS2/N64 controller to USB" adatpers. Half of those don't work with some controllers. If you want you can return the adapter (or controller) and ask for a replacement (as I did, the seller definitely won't be surprised that it doesn't work) and hope you get one of the non-broken adapters, or get your money back and buy the Mayflash dual n64 usb converter.

that's the best you can do, the same thing happened to me about 1 year ago.
