Using the NES Controller on SSB4WiiU would be fun.

You can play Super Smash Bros for Wii U with just a Wii Remote, and the controller that comes with the new NES Classic Edition will be compatible with the Wii U, it has one less button than the Wii Remote setup, so could that work?

The game already has a ton of controller options, enough that in a 8 player game everyone could use a different controller, but it would be cool to see another option, especially since the NES controller will supposedly only cost $10 on it's own.

What do you guys think? Would one less button really hurt gameplay too much?

I don't know about using the NES controller to play Smash.

You could not grab and throw opponents with A, B, or A+B.

Interesting. They wouldn't release an update that would enable that, would they? Unless a lot of people try to do this... :(

It would be interesting if Nintendo came up with a Smash NES demake (preferably with graphics as well animated as Kirby's Adventure at least) ... and you can use the NES controller for that. :p

Wouldn't be the first Smash Bros. demake. http://supersmashland.com/

Also, an NES controller that plugs into a Wii remote means awesome possibilities for emulation!
