US Release Date is still Dec. 3

As I said in another thread, that site is full of it. Check the SSBB Dojo main page, they changed the release date from December to TBD (to be determined).

Same here, they did not take the time to change the release date back on Dojo for nothing. . .

I think that's just a misunderstanding on the part of the website.
As I posted in the other thread, here's the direct quote from Iwata during the conference:
"In order to fine tune Smash bros, with this unprecedented game depth, we have decided that we have to take a little more time to complete the game than we announced before. We are sorry for the fans that are already anxiously waiting for the launch, but we would like to launch this game on January 24th, 2008 in Japan. As for the North American launch, we will review that too, and our local subsidiaries will make their own announcements."

How long after a Japanese release does the NA version of games come out or is completley random?

It depends, sometimes America gets the games a few weeks earlier. We got the DS, Metriod, the Wii, and a ton of stuff before Japan. But they get things like Harvest Moon and Fire Emblem games months ahead of us.

Hmmm... well if he said he wanted to postpone the release date because of marketing, then that'd be a different story. Since they are delaying because of final touches that still need to be completed, then it should also hold true for NA because (duh) they are the base for the NA version ultimately. As much as I'd like to tell myself otherwise, it really seems that we're going to be delayed as well. I mean... unless we're supposed to get an incomplete version of the game. =/

It's very doubtful, but anything's possible. I'm gonna wait for word from Sakurai before confirming anything.
Yea, we should totally believe this site and ignore the fact that the DOJO site changed the release date from Dec. 3rd to TBD. (sighs)
They changed the release date on the DOJO for a reason guys, otherwise they would have left Dec. 3rd in there.

Guys this is stupid TBD does not mean the date is changed. That means that Nintendo of america is discussing the possibility of delaying the game. As it stands right now the release date is still Dec. 3rd. So wanting a release date is stupid.
Now I'm not saying that the release date won't be changed but really for a game like this there is always doubt in areas of release of time for work. the date is still Dec 3rd until decided other wise. Sakurai concerned he may not have enough time to finish the game in time but that is natural pressure from regular time.
Guys all I'm saying is be patience and mellow out. Until a different date is given take what we have and just keep your mind on the updates. Smash isn't going to just fade away. It's getting premium care and nurture so that it may become the best of it's kind.

Maybe Sakura bit off more than he could chew. I'm starting to have doubts if we'll ever see this game. Can anyone else confirm that X-play said Dec. 3rd is still the date for us? As of now I won't believe this game exists till it's in my hands.

It also doesn't mean not Dec 3rd. It means the date is being discussed. So the date hasn't been changed. It's in the process of discussion of whether it should be changed and too what. Until we actually get a different date people need to cool it with the anxiety. Iwata said that America would announce the news shortly. So we'll get the news at E for all. Finally. I was about to make a post saying what you just said because i didn't think anyone agreed with me =\
But yeah your totaly right. It could come earlier. Sakurai may be almost done and the game would just sit there completed for a month. Or it could come later. Sakurai may have found a HUGE glitch or just wanted to add a certain character at the last minute. Who knows?

But anyway, "A game that is delayed is delayed until it comes out, a game that is rushed is rushed forever."
If the American release date stands, that'll be great, but I would not want to have a lesser product that we will play for several years when I can wait a couple months to get something closer to a 10/10, which is what Sakurai wants to give us.

I agree with what's been stated already, that fixing a game before it comes out is better than receiving a flawed copy of a game that could potentially be 'perfect.'
If Sakurai needs a little more time to add a character or to add... well, ANYTHING really (The more the better!) then I say he should get it.
I personally believe that if the US release date is in fact pushed back from Dec. 3rd, that it will still release sometime before Christmas, or right around Christmas itself. Maybe that's just wishful thinking, but I doubt Nintendo of America would pass up a huge Christmas sale item like this without a fight.
I'm sure that E For All will shed some light on it, at least. Till then all we can do is speculate, which unfortunately usually leads to rumors and what not. D:
