Ok, so I, like most, are slightly upset with the new roster. Wolf is fine, i love ROB, w00t Lucario. But Ness? Toon Link? Ganon and Falco's moves not really changing? What happened to the no clones we were promised? What happened to 40+ characters?

But, Brawl keeps getting its release date pushed back. I can only hope that there are still a few characters in the works (Midna, MegaMan, Advance Wars character...) that will be finished shortly, and be made into free downloadable characters in the future.

Either that, or there are still a few characters hidden in the roster that no one has unlocked, which are all hopefully really hard to unlock. At least, that's what I keep telling myself...

Im with ya mate
I came home from london yesterday and found the confirmed roster looking a little bit bland. I really want midna in so come on nintendo, give the fans what they want.

I've e-mailed Nintendo about the matter...got one unresponsive response and I'm going to try again later today. Be patient. I'm going to ask it in such a way that they cannot not respond...I hope.

Even most libraries have a wifi system if you don't happen to have a friend who does!

I've e-mailed Nintendo about the matter of DLC of some kind (phrased in such a way that it could be for any game, with Brawl as a mere footnote). I got an automated response...and I'm trying again this afternoon.

I agree with you fully.

I don't know if it was official about 40+ characters and the no clones thing, but they way brawl is coming out to be is a little disappointing. If they were going to stick clones back in this game, at least make NEW clones and not the ones that you previously had in Melee. That was a poor move. The "Brawl Effect" is slowly wearing off... i have a feeling it won't have the life of melee.

As a good friend of mine put it, "This isn't Brawl, This is Smash Bros 2.5."

Sakurai NEVER promised "no clones". I have no idea where you're getting that idea, but it's not Sakurai.
yeah. thats a common misconception a lot of people have. He said the game would have been nothing but clones had he not stepped in. Besides, falco ganon and other clones are luigified, so no complaints here. ROB KICKS ***

in response to meta link
She could use hand/hair to do normal attacks and grabs while her smash moves make use of her twilight magic. Her FS could be her fused shadow transformation.
Stage=Twilight Castle
I would post a whole moveset but i am typing on a psp.
P.S.soz for going off subject

Well.
I have yet to get ahold of an .iso of the game, which should change soon...
but I'm going to take a look at the character data's size. I don't think it would be any lager than a few MBs.
So, that would be around 32/48 "Blocks" a piece per character, and thats less than most VC games. You can also stick them on a scan disc card.
If its a free download, then it won't be a big deal.
If the issue becomes "no Wifi" then it doesn't matter, because they won't be playing "On Wifi" to be able to run into characters they don't have data for.
If they HAVE Wifi and have NOT downloaded the character(s), then you can either A) Sort the matches to detect players who are USING the character, and who ARE NOT,
or
B) Create a temporary data storage for the data of the character which gets dumped when the round is over.

=/ Its simple. Its effective. It makes people happy. It would only do Nintendo good to do this.

Its Nintendo, they won't patch anything.

Yeah, itd' be great if we got balance patches every once and a while with a few extra stages (maybe M2), but this ain't Blizzard. Once Nintendo sells a product they wash their hands of it.

What if they came out with a little Card thingie (for where you put the pictures in) that containes more information (maybe a couple characters, trophies stages) If you can store thousands of songs and a ton of movies on something that can fit in your hand I'm sure it wouldn't be impossible to make and update or 2 like this. (however milti updates like this would get tricky unless there was an external drive of some form to take the one in so you could access both. but this is all only in my imagination so whatever.

It's the Wii--There's not enough room on the system to hold a Smash Bros. patch/update. :/

i think they should make things called like smash packs or something. IT could come with a character, stage, and like and event or item or something. I think it would sell even better than like a song on rock band. Plus, people might not have enough money for a whole other expansion pack, but a 5 dollar pop wouldn't kill anyone.

Smash Packs is a good name for them.Heres an example of my ideal "Smash pack"
Midna Pack
Character:Midna
Stage:Twilight castle
Music:Midna's Theme
AT:Shadow Beast
Item:Fused Shadow(works like the dragoon. Collect 4 to unleash a huge blast of energy)

Top Bottom
