I've been playing Smash for almost 8 months and I really have never used uptilts in Melee because the Tap Jump (I turn it off in PM to make tilts easier) feature makes it hard for me to actually do a tilt and not a smash attack or a jump. Is there any common tip to make tilts, specifically up tilts, any easier? Falco has a lot of potential with is U tilt and I want to use him to his full potential.

just like dont push it all the way up, and then tap a. tap it a little later and faster if you get an upsmash.

If you're chaining a combo into an uptilt, you can start holding up during the lag of the previous attack. This helped me a lot before I learned to do them on their own.

I always recommend to my PM friends that if they want to play melee, they should try to learn how to play with tap-jump on. If you can get used to it, the skills are completely transferable so you can practice up tilting in both games. This can also help get rid of the habit of hitting up really hard to up tilt (which I assume you are doing because of PM). If you keep hitting up hard in PM to tilt, you might never break the habit (hence 8 months of trying)
