Unusual lag pikes

Hi everyone,

I'm looking here for some insights cause I'm experiencing some lag pikes (kind of freeze every 15 sec) since 2 days on 1v1 glory mode.

That's very unusual and my connection used to be very smooth and fluent.

Also I don't have a poor connection (1 ms ping, 90 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload).

I don't know what to do and I don't think it comes from my opponents due to my quantity of battle.

Has anybody experienced the same thing and could have a solution for me?

The only thing I tried is to reboot my box.

Thank you very much and sorry if it's the wrong place for this thread.

How often does it happen now? Do you share you internet with others in the household? What kind of devices do you have on the network? Wireless or Wired?

A little more information and I'm sure myself or others will be able to help out.

Thanks for the answer.

It tends to get better since last night, not really sure though.

Since the release i had like no lag at all unless i had an opponent with a poor connection.

My internet is used only by me and i've got only phone/ipad on the network although i'm not using them while playing (i'm pretty sure it wouldn't be an issue though)

I play wireless but my box is next to my Wii U and i guess my internet is strong enough to play without ethernet wire.

I believe the issue comes from a perturbation somewhere on my internet line and I hope it will get better the same way it went worse...

Yeah, it doesn't sound like any configurations on the router is causing issues. I had some issues with my router's default Quality of Service settings in the past that was an easy fix, but you'd see symptoms more often with other devices on your wifi. You can try a LAN adapter for your Wii U and see if that cuts the level of lag more, as it will make sure your connection is more continuous in case it's caused by interference. (Not sure if you live in an apartment complex, as if that is the case your neighbors could effect strength) It is possible to have a bad luck of connections for a day or two if all the opponents you play against have bad connections. I've had that. Thought it was me until I had more days of good connections and figured out I wasn't having issues with my internet service.

Welcome to For Glory. Every other opponent I have a little lag, but it doesn't help that Smash thinks I should play someone on the opposite side of the planet every other game.

Strangely enough, I usually have better luck fighting people from other countries than my own when it comes to lag.
