Unintentional Pivot Lasers-- Controller Issue or Me Issue?

I picked up Falco recently, and I've noticed that I have issues with my approaching laser game. Here's what's happening.

When I move forward with my lasers, I flick the control stick then let it return to neutral when I'm in the air (obviously). The problem is that when the control stick moves back to neutral, it goes slightly past it and causes me to pivot laser. I'm using the classic white controller, and it's a few months old. I tried it with my cousin's controller, which is years old, and don't have the same issue.

All of this being said, I'm still not sure whether this is an issue with my controller because it's SUPPOSED to be sensitive. I WANT it to be sensitive; however, is this an issue where my control stick is loose rather than sensitive? That would be a concern.

The only way I think I can get an answer this question is to see if anyone else has this issue with the same controller. I'd like to hear from as many of you as possible, so I can have a large sample size.

its generally an issue new controllers thats quite commonly known. Ive had many and its an issue for the first month or few months. Im kind of getting sick of it and I think I will relearn how to use lasers while guiding my stick without releasing it.

This is a common issue with the smash 4 and white controllers. Their dead zone area, the circle around the stick that doesn't register movement until crossed, is very small. Because of this flicking the control stick in one direction and letting it recoil back to center often results in it going a little past center before snapping back.

I've had this exact issue with 3 separate controllers and never had the issue with either of my old platinum controllers.

For now, this can be remedied by being gentler when you flick the stick, or guiding the stick, but guiding it is ill-advised because you're more likely to side-b to your death. And being gentler cannot mean slower because most falco laser techniques necessitate being as fast as possible on the flick to get your laser out asap.

Try to meet your new controller halfway, and adjust to it instead of forcing it to adjust to you. At least until its broken in as sufficiently as possible
