Ok, a friend and myself are thinking about hosting a tournament. However, neither of us live by a large city. Just for a good idea of how many people WOULD come to a tournament in Auburn, NE (ZIP is 68305), please post here if you would. (I'm thinking no more than $7 admission, probably $5, prizes will be awarded)

Uh...Nebraska isn't in the pacific west...acutally, Auburn is in the the SW corner of NE (it's closer to IA and MO than Omaha or Lincoln)

umm.
sounds a littly krusty.
but with a couple poiinters, probly not from me, im still learning.
it could hae potential.
assuming you have a decent place that is healthy.
you could maybe get 20 people,
if you get the nebraska kids, and some iowa kids, and some MO kids.
you could get a good turn out.
but you would have to make a bigger prize then anything if you want a big turn out.

not really... all he needs to do is advertise locally. Assuming we could take like 5 or so from Omaha, and if Uli and them all go thats probably about 10 from Omaha... he just needs to bring in a Local seen. Its all about advertising, you tell your friends and they tell theirs, and put up some flyers, promise them a fun time.

really what you should do is ask around before you decide to host it. If your friends sound interested and say they'd come, thats good... and then ask some people or have them ask some others, if you can go ask 15-20 people and they all say they'll come, then go for it. remember even just puttin up little flyers, or a thread on the internet, can always attract some extra people that you never even knew.

The only problem I would see is with Prizes. Most tournaments would run 10$ for singles, and then either 5$ or 10$ a person for doubles. However some places like to exchange that for their own prizes, like free stuff or whatever it may be... but most people would just prefer cash lol...
