So I got a PS3 last week and this game was one of the reasons I got it. I saw no one had made a thread for it, so I decided to do so.

Uncharted 2 is the story of Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter extraordinaire, on his journey to uncover Marco Polo's lost fleet of ships, as well as the famed Cintamani stone.

Online play is included, whether it is co-op or competitive multiplayer.

Competitive game types:

Deathmatch:

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves' take on deathmatch, which is capped at five players per side, doesn't appear to break new ground in team-based multiplayer. It's rather standard stuff, with weapons scattered about each arena, maps customized from single-player levels to fit a multiplayer play style, and a goal to shoot them before they shoot you. You'll play as one of five Heroes, including Drake, Chloe, and Sully, or one of the black-suited mercenaries, the Villains.
Plunder:

Plunder
Uncharted 2's Plunder mode is a nicely-named Capture The Flag mode, one that takes its treasure hunting theme into consideration. Plunder carries over much of what makes the game's deathmatch mode enjoyable, adding extra teamwork into the mix.

The goal is straightforward: find the hidden treasure, typically a large gold idol, then carry it back to base. Yep, that's Capture The Flag, alright.
Co-op

Uncharted 2 does coop one-better, belying its "2" with three-person cooperative online play. Coop doesn't necessarily follow the single-player storyline, offering an alternative way to play the game, something that feels even more action intensive than what solo play has to offer.

I KNEW AND LOVED THIS FRANCHISE LONG BEFORE ANYONE EVEN THOUGHT TWICE ABOUT IT NOW IT'S POPULAR AND I'M NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT.

Seriously, I'm afriad of the hype backlash this game might get. A friend of mine is considering getting a PS3 just for Uncharted 2. I tell him "prepare to be disapointed." While yes, I love the game I don't think that it's a 9.5 game at all. More like an 8.0 game, just like the original.

The game is good. The game is fun, but if it's the only game on your mind don't buy a PS3 for it. instead you should buy a PS3 because it's twice the console that the 360 could ever even hope to be BAD FINALARK, ELIMINATE YOUR BIAS!

I dunno, I think it deserves a 9.0 or 9.5. I'm only like 15% through the game and it's had more plot twists/extremely intense moments than some games have throughout (holy **** the train sequence is amazing). I wish there was more open world exploration and stuff. I mean there are some sidepaths you can take to get treasures, but other than that it's fairly linear. That's not to say that that detracts from the fun, but I just enjoy games where I can go wherever I want.

Is this game good? I want to play it but I own a 360. :(
It's stellar, in my opinion. It looks amazing, it's extremely fun, there is a good story, nice voice acting, and it merges the shooting and platforming bits almost seamlessly (you can shoot while hanging from things).

I wouldn't buy a PS3 just for this game, but if there are reasons other than Uncharted that you want a PS3, then you should get one. And if you do, pick this up for sure.

Uncharted 1 and 2 remain to be one of the games you must play or at least try if you own a PS3.

The way the story is told will always keep you in suspense because although you are dealing with one problem ultimately, you are faced with smaller scaled obstacles that don't take forever to play through so it won't steer away from the main plot, but these obstacles are what keep you playing because after you solved the first tiny obstacle, you are hit with another one right after.

I played Uncharted 1(U1) and watched an entire walkthrough of uncharted 2 (U2), both have pretty scenery, colours are lively and the characters are nicely voiced.

Plus, climbing on just about anything is cool as heck, because it's something you'd probably never do in real life, decaying bricks, icy mountains, and architectural ledges with your life on the line.

i also heard the online is a blast to play.

But I totally agree with finalark, don't buy a PS3 just because of this game. There are other amazing titles on the PS3 with great online like Metal Gear Solid 4 and Killzone 2.

@A17: The online play is a lot of fun and it's an overall solid experiance. I personally perfer playing Co-op because outside of Fighting games I'm not really into compeititve multiplayer. But either way, both modes are very fun and very well put together.

I've been playing this since I got it for Christmas, freakin' love the online and have played the story mode twice now. (And it is USUALLY really hard for me to play a game's story mode more than once so I'm surprised I bothered). I play online like daily and have a blast with it.

I'm sure the treasures will keep you playing the story mode more than once. i found 35% of U1's treasures on my first run. If i find a large area, i'll look everywhere, if i am taking a single route and it branches off into 2 paths i find that one that looks like it isn't where you're suppose to go and bam you find a treasure!
