NOTE: We are trying out a new venue! We will be in the University Center, room 306. The UC is the big building on the intersection between Rowe St and College Ave.

University of Mary Washington Smash Club has started hosting Smash Bi-weeklies! Anyone (don't have to be a student of the university) is welcome to enter or just watch/play friendlies. Registration takes place at the event. All skill levels are welcome. It is a double elimination bracket which means you have to lose two sets to be eliminated.

$2 entry fee for Singles. 0$ venue fee!

I really want to merge the UMW smash community with the Fredericksburg smash community since we're so small. If you can bring a CRT set up that would be much appreciated, we have enough but the more setups the more friendlies we can run.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Tournament Details:
Start time: 3:30 pm (Melee starts at 1:00)
$2 Entry for PM Singles (Melee tournament will also be at this event).

4. Blind Picks: the first character selection of a set must be without prior knowledge of the opponent's character selection for both players.
5. Modified Dave's Stupid Rule (MDSR): No player can counterpick a stage he/she has previously won on in that set unless agreed upon by both players.
6. Gentleman's clause: any stage may be played on so long as both players and the TO agree to it, including banned stages. This can be used in tandem with MDSR.
7. All infinites must end before 300% or they become stalling. Wobbling is legal as long as it ends before 300%.
8. Excessive stalling is banned.
9. Timed out matches will be determined by the remaining number of stocks, then percentage of the current stock.

Another great event last week (18 PM entrants and 28 Melee entrants)! Our last bi-weekly will be this SATURDAY, December 5th. Notice that this event will not be on a Sunday as they have in the past due to us having finals week start next week.

I'll see you all there!

Is it happening on the 31st of January? I have a tight schedule and that's the only day in January I can go.

Hi, since the University will still be on break this weekend, we will not be able to host our bi-weekly this Saturday. We will be moving our Melee and Smash 4 bi-weekly to Saturday 3/12.

That said, I will be back on campus this Saturday so I will be hosting a Melee and PM tourney in my apartment. I don't have too much room so I'll have to limit the turnout to something I feel comfortable with. If you're interested in coming on Saturday just shoot me a message or comment and I'll invite you. If you're one of the people that commutes for our tournament then it's probably not worth driving down for, but I won't stop you as long as you message me first.

I want to start Melee around 6:00pm, PM after.
