umm wow what is going on with my game?

after a game online and it shows the winning character and their little winning pose, I sit there pushing the START and A button until my fingers bleed and yet i can not get out of the screen for like 15 or 20 seconds

my god i can not get it to leave that screen to save my own life
i dont know whats going on but it is really driving me **** crazy insane x_x
